DREAMLAND
Dreamland is a visual story about a life that once was.
Through intimate portraits and everyday observations from a small peninsula in western Norway — a place called Stad — the book offers a close look at a family life in harmony with nature, surrounded by sea, light, and landscape.
The title Dreamland carries several layers of meaning. It refers to a personal dreamland, but also to the well-known surf beach in Bali, where the seed was planted — a symbolic parallel to Stad, one of Norway’s most iconic surf destinations.
At the same time, the book reflects a personal journey — a process of letting go of a life that appeared perfect from the outside.
Through the images, themes of connection and distance, nostalgia and loss, fracture and rebuilding are explored.
The work on this project has been a healing journey — a way to gather the fragments and piece them back together, in a different way than before. Some pieces are missing, some new ones have been added . As a result, new patterns have emerged.
Dreamland is not just a book about a place; it is a book about dreams, choices, and the search for oneself after upheaval.
